Note: The caption on the newspaper article reads “The camera man snapped the E. Fred Smith well as it discharged a shower of mud, sand and debris under the impetus of 50 quarts of nitroglycerine. This is the first well in the Wayne district to be shot. The charge increased the flow form 900,000 to 1,500,000 feet”. The flow is not in feet, it is in cubic feet per day. ⁴⁾
